# Licenses

View license status, activate a license key, and renew before expiry: the in-portal counterpart to the post-install license activation flow.

The Licenses page shows the current licence status for your <code class="expression">space.vars.productName</code> deployment and lets you manage licence activation and renewal.

## Accessing Licenses

### Open the NetSuite Admin view

Switch to **NetSuite Admin** in <code class="expression">space.vars.productName</code>.

### Open Settings

Click **Settings** in the left sidebar.

### Click Licenses

The Licenses page opens.

## How licensing works

<code class="expression">space.vars.productName</code> requires a valid licence to operate. Your licence is tied to your NetSuite account and controls which features are available and how many users can access the portals.

## Checking licence status

The Licenses page displays:

| Field                | Description                                    |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Product**          | Name of the product                            |
| **Start & End Date** | When the current licence activates and expires |
| **License Key**      | The licence key that was provided by In8Sync   |
| **Status**           | Active, Expired, or Not Found                  |

If the portal is showing a licence warning, the Licenses page is the first place to check.

## Activating a licence

If you have a new licence key from In8Sync:

### Open the Licenses page

**Settings > Licenses** in the NetSuite Admin view.

### Enter the licence key

Paste the key into the provided field.

### Click Validate License

The system validates the key and updates the status display.

## Renewing a licence

When your licence is approaching expiry:

1. Contact In8Sync to arrange renewal.
2. You'll receive a new licence key.
3. Enter it on the Licenses page or in the BRM Setting record.
4. The new licence takes effect immediately.

Set a reminder 30 days before expiry to avoid any interruption to service.

## Licence issues

| Error                       | Resolution                                                            |
| --------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **"License not found"**     | Check that the licence key was entered correctly with no extra spaces |
| **"License expired"**       | Contact In8Sync to renew                                              |
| **"Feature not available"** | The feature may not be included in your licence tier: contact In8Sync |
| **Portal not loading**      | Confirm the BRM Setting record exists and the licence key is saved    |
